2025 gave us a another great year for Horror movies, from haunted house stories featuring mans best friend. To Babysitters being stalked by masked killers. Beloved zombie franchise returns and surprising movies that blew us all away…. lets recount some of my top horror movies of 2025.
This movie takes the vampire genre and takes it on a fresh adventure. This movie felt like a love letter to Dusk Till Dawn whilst reinventing the idea and taking it to another level.
The musical numbers were well done, eerie at times and perfectly executed. The vampires felt threatening and real. The acting was top tier, it was a horror movie but with artistic direction. I honestly cannot gush about this movie enough and it was one of the only 5 star rated reviews I gave in 2025.

Good Boy took the horror world by storm in 2025! As a nation of dog lovers this film hit hard for a lot of people. A haunted house tale told from the perspective of mans best friend! On paper the notion sounds ridiculous but what they achieved in this movie is amazing. It felt truly haunting and deserves all the accolades it gets and our furry little friend was an absolute star in this movie.

M3GAN 2.0 disappointed some fans, who wanted a darker approach to the franchise. However I welcomed its campy action packed sequel. I think a movie like M3GAN has to remain satire whilst giving us some amazing kills. I liken the m3gan franchise to Chucky, whilst the original will always be the best and be a pure horror movie, the sequels are comedy horror and help cement the lasting legacy of the character. I honestly think M3GAN is here to stay!
The sequel was clearly a terminator 2 homage movie and I had fun with it! it was a good movie and worth a watch even if its just to hear the one liners and quips that M3GAN utters throughout the movie.

The final adventure of Ed and Lorraine Warren, the epic Conjuring Universe came to a close in 2025 and I got to say I will miss them. I have enjoyed the movies, Annabelle, The Nun, The Crooked Man – The Conjuring franchise gave us some iconic villains along the way, The final movie in the series however did not deliver the scares I wanted it too, however it was still a fun adventure

I was pleasantly surprised by this movie and it deserved a wider release than what it got. This movie is a reimagining of Dracula and is certainly a movie heavily inspired by the 1992 Francis Ford Copella version however it does give a fresh narrative and a dark brooding gothic love story that I think deserves better attention than it got,. Christoph Waltz is superb in the movie and I even grew to love Caleb Landry Jones version of Dracula. If you enjoy a romantic gothic love story like Nosferatu then this movie is certainly worth a watch.
