Today I went to the cinema to see The Bride (2026) — the brand new horror movie inspired by the legendary Frankenstein story and the classic Universal Monsters.
Don’t listen to the critics, this film is powerful, rebellious and worth seeing on the big screen!
I absolutely loved this movie. I am a lifelong love of the Universal Monsters and Frankenstein and The Bride have been a favourite of mine for many years!
This film handles the story so well and gives us a new unique vision of the idea of the Bride! this movie is filled with social commentary, its self aware, almost BONKERS at times but I was here for it.
This movie had moments that were serious, moments that made me laugh and moments that made me cry – this story goes full circle
It was the bonnie and clyde story of the Universal Monsters
full of rebellion, female angst and I wanted more of it in the best way possible!
I cannot wait to own this on physical media and I will certainly be back to the big screen for a second viewing!
This movie blends horror, social commentary, humour and tragedy into something that feels both classic and completely new.
For me, this felt like a Bonnie and Clyde style story set in the Universal Monsters universe, filled with rebellion, emotion and a powerful new take on the Bride.
