28 Years Later (2025) Does It Live Up To The Hype?

Oh … my…. Zombie
What did I just watch?

so many people asked me to view this movie, calling it the best film of 2025 … a masterpiece… I thought this was far from it!

Instead of a sequel to the film we all loved growing up in the 90s…. we got what I felt… was just a walking dead movie set in the UK…

Don’t even get me started on the ending… that was just odd!

I loved the idea of Spike going out into the big world… we learn what has happened to the world along side him and that makes for great viewing.

Ralph Fiennes played a great role and the beauty in him helping Spike’s mum choose her own ending in this volatile world was amazingly touching.

The movie was far form perfect, characters made choices that made little to no sense… sometimes it was so disjoited and chaotic it was hard to follow some sequences. To me felt like style over substance.

The scene where we see the infected give birth… that was again a very touching scene, seeing a glimpse of humanity return to these infected… only for her to try and eat her 10 seconds later.

But honestly… it felt like this movie had no story to tell… the movie didnt ramp up in the 2nd half and the ending felt out of place and random… what they wanted to be a cliff hanger just felt out of place… and very weird.

With that in mind I will still be watching the nest installment I want to have hope that after the 2nd movie we see more… we understand why the first movie was the way it was… maybe we just need the bigger picture.

Until then for me, it was a hard pass and not one I will be watching again anytime soon.
