I got to sit down and watch Frankie, Maniac Woman thanks to director Pierre Tsigaridis (Two Witches, Traumatika) reaching out to me to review this movie ahead of its premier at Grimmfest
I really enjoyed this movie, its a a body horror, slasher. Reflecting real world feelings on body shaming and the feeling of not fitting into societal beauty standards.
This film has a dark humour to it and a slight campiness that works within the confines of the film. It has an artistic retro look and feels like an old school slasher.
This is a gory indie film that is well worth watching
