Monster: The Ed Gein Story Netflix Series Review
I recently sat down and watched the latest instalment in the MONSTER series on Netflix, this series focuses on the infamous crimes of Ed Gein!
The shocking true-life tale of Ed Gein, the infamous murderer and grave robber who inspired many of Hollywood’s most iconic on-screen killers. Starring Charlie Hunnam and Laurie Metcalf.
This 8 episode arc, chronicles the rise and fall of infamous serial killer Ed Gein. Charlie Hunnam plays a great role as Ed. He manages to make you feel disgusted in his actions and sorry for him all at the same time.
This series was great. It carried a great darkness and atmosphere through the first few episodes, however once Ed Gein is caught and we head into the later years of his life, for me, the series lost me a little bit. The last 2 episodes don’t really hold much bearing on the story and felt like filler to me. This is a dramatization of the life of Ed Gein and highlights some of the horrific things he did, however this series is heavily a work of fiction with a few discrepancies and things edited for entertainment purposes.
You can watch the series on Netflix UK now!
