NO, WAIT, HEAR ME OUT – I CAN EXPLAIN!!
Yeah, my 2025 year in review on Letterboxd surprised me too, but I can explain.
58 films logged in a year is bad! but to be honest I only started using Letterboxd in August of 2025 so my 2026 year in review sample should look much healthier.
2025 was a great year for movies, my most viewed actor was Vera Farmiga as in 2025 we did get the conclusion to The Conjuring franchise and I went back and re-watched the entire franchise in preparation. The Conjuring franchise isn’t everyone’s favourite but I love a good haunted house story and my favourite type of horror movies are usually exorcism movies so the Conjuring franchise has a soft spot in my heart! and as you all know, I am slightly obsessed with Annabelle.
Most watched Director, Stephen Cognetti – Hell House LLC – In 2025 I watched this franchise for the first time and had the amazing opportunity to watch Hell House Lineage ahead of its UK debut at the Dead Northern Film Festival. Whilst the franchise doesn’t blow me away, it certainly has its creepy moments.
Highest rated movies of the year, Companion surprised me. I only watched this over the festive period and I really really enjoyed this movie! However, there are movies I rated 4 star that I would certainly put above Companion. I actually gave x21 4 star reviews in 2025.
